What are the differences between an accountant, a CPA and a bookkeeper?

There is a difference between a bookkeeper and a certified public accountant (CPA). Although both can record your transactions, a CPA is more knowledgeable about financial reporting standards and could represent you in the event of an audit. Unlike CPAs, licensing and certification are optional for bookkeepers.

What documentation is required to start bookkeeping?

For us to begin bookkeeping for your company, we would need all invoices, contracts, bank statements, any reconciliations performed for the prior month/period, and any lease agreements.
